Responsibilities:

This is a hybrid position for the Breast Clinic Navication as well as Medical Oncology Clinical RN. 

The schedule for this position is four 8 hour shifts per week, 0800-1630. (Must be able to work Mondays and Thursdays)

*No weekend or holiday requirements! 

Hope Cancer Care Center Description: 

The Hope Cancer Care Center at Longmont United Hospital encompasses our outpatient medical oncology and radiation oncology clinics, creating a unified, multidisciplinary treatment approach for our cancer patients. Our medical oncology clinic includes four private infusion chairs for dedicated chemotherapy infusions and an in-office bone marrow biopsy room. The radiation oncology clinic features the latest technology to deliver external beam radiation for malignant and non-malignant diagnoses via the use of a linear accelerator.

Our team combines the precision of an elite breast surgeon with the specialized vigilance of a high-risk nurse practitioner to provide a powerhouse of clinical expertise. Together, they deliver a seamless blend of advanced medical intervention and deeply compassionate care tailored to your unique journey.

As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge, as well as:

* Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery to each patient.
* Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
* Maintaining communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. 
* Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
* Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
* Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
* Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
* Actively serves on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
* Being personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing HumanKindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:

Education Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

* One year of Oncology RN experience
* Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
* OCN certification, preferred
* Experience with breast surgery, high risk breast patients and navigation, preferred

Licenses/Certification Requirements

* RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact. Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact. Physical Requirements
