Our St. Luke's Cancer Institute (SLCI) clinics are dynamic, full-service outpatient hematology/oncology treatment centers offering chemo/bio/and radiation therapies. Patients and their families have trusted St. Luke's Cancer Institute for more than 50 years for advanced, compassionate care for cancer blood disorders. Today we are a network of five cancer centers dedicated to state-of-the-art treatment close to home; patient-centered care and support; cutting-edge research; and community prevention, education, and early detection initiatives. St. Luke's holds a Commission on Cancer (CoC) cancer program accreditation - this is a quality program of the American College of Surgeons which demonstrates a cancer program's commitment to providing high-quality, multidisciplinary, patient-centered cancer care.

What you can expect from this role

* Part-time (0.8 FTE): day shift, 8-hour shifts (*some flexibility with part-time FTE - apply so we can talk about what fits your needs best!)
* No nights, weekends or St. Luke's observed holidays

* Certification pay (ex. OCN)
* The CIC RN provides hands on nursing care for the oncology population by administering high-risk medications such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy in the chemotherapy infusion center
* Our Twin Falls chemotherapy infusion center (CIC) location has 26 chemo chairs/beds and is open from 0700-1730
* The chemotherapy infusion center also administers blood products, fluids, and injections

* Cross train to triage

Minimum qualifications for this role

* Education: Nursing Degree
* Experience: One (1) + years' RN experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute
* Preferred: Oncology/Chemo infusion experience or infusion experience

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.

* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. 

* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments. 

* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. 

* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. 

* Manages care of patients. 

* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. 

* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. 

* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model. 

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* RN's with less than 1 year of RN experience at the time of hire into the RN position must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN
* Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, CCNE -Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education)
* Experience: 0 years' experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
