Shift: Full time or Part time; 7a-5:30pm (10 hour days) M-F. On Call 1 to 2 nights per week and every 3rd weekend

Join Our Team as a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse!

Are you an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) looking to make a difference in a dynamic and specialized environment? UnityPoint Health-Des Moines is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab RN to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct, specialized care to patients in our Cardiac Cath Lab, working with advanced equipment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

 Performs the various duties related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This includes scrubbing a case, documenting/monitoring, and circulating during procedure under the supervision of the cardiologist/vascular surgeon.

 Providers circulator role in the Invasive Vascular Labs as assigned

 Oversight of circulating assistants during procedures.

 Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care. 

 Utilizes critical thinking in making independent judgement and maintains responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.

 Assesses needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.

 Communicates effectively with other team members including physicians, nurses, radiologic technologists, clinical partners, and dept secretaries and leaders. Communicates effectively with patients and families.

 Participates in taking off-hour call as assigned

 Continues professional development by involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

 Utilizes a holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients and families served in the assigned service area.

 Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare providers and holding them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care. Consistently delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge 

Qualifications:

Education:

* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Experience:

* Experience in critical care or telemetry preferred but not required

Licensure:

* Current RN licensure in good standing with the State of Iowa.

Certifications:

* BLS and ACLS certifications (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire).

On-Call:

* Ability to participate in on-call shifts and respond within 30 minutes when called in.
