Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of the daily operations of Diagnostic Radiology. This includes providing patients with diagnostic radiologic testing, and the proper management of workflow to ensure that all patients receive the best care possible. This position is also responsible, in the absence of the supervisor, for making decisions when situations arise that require a supervisory level response. Responsibilities: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions) * *Assists with keeping licensures, certificates, and competencies upkeep for all staff on an annual basis. * *Assists with schedules, tracking attendance of staff and time cards as requested. * Assists with orientation and training of radiology technologists on the proper use of all equipment and new procedures instituted in the radiology department. * *Assumes the job duties of a Radiologic Tech II and Radiologic Tech III when assigned to work in a room. * *Guides and directs employees as needed to ensure that services to patients and other customers are maintained at an optimal level at all times, while conferring with the radiologist or physician requests for supplies required for special procedures. * Learns office procedures so that direction and assistance can be given to technical and office staff in the absence of the supervisor of radiology. * Monitors and orders radiology supplies such as film contrast, and specialty items for expiration dates and adequate amounts. * Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned. Qualifications: JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of radiology. * Developed verbal and written communication skills required, and strong interpersonal skills a must. * A high degree of independent action and exercise of judgment is a must, along with a creative ability. * Ability to work under required deadlines and schedules while being flexible to handle special requests and projects. * Ability to multi-task under stressful situations, and ability to professionally handle stressful situations. * Ability to provide compassionate patient care. * Ability to direct the work of others. * Must be detailed oriented. EDUCATION All post high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University. Additional education may be substituted for experience requirements should the substitution not conflict with State or Board certification/license requirements. * Associates Degree Radiology Required EXPERIENCE * 6 Imaging related experience Preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION * Active IN Radiologic Technologist License Required * ARRT (R) Radiology Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required * Basic Life Support Certification Required STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR Meets the Standards of Behavior as outlined in Personnel Policy and Procedure #1, Employee Relations Code.
