Responsibilities:
AES (Automotive & Energy Solutions) development team is looking is looking for a junior mechanical engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Penang. As part of a leading test and measurement solutions provider, you will contribute to the mechanical design, development, and integration of test systems for vehicle's controller testing. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in mechanical engineering.
* Assist in the mechanical design and development of fixtures, brackets, enclosures, and custom mechanical parts using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, NX CAD 3D modelling, PTC Creo).
* Support integration of mechanical structures into automated test solutions.
* Collaborate with project members including electrical, software, and system engineers to ensure mechanical components meet functional and quality requirements.
* Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and validation.
* Perform basic mechanical simulations and tolerance analysis as needed.
* Work with suppliers and vendors on parts fabrication and mechanical sourcing.
* Maintain accurate documentation including 2D drawings, BOMs, and assembly procedures.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling software (preferably NX CAD 3D modelling).
* Good understanding of GD&T, drafting standards, and mechanical tolerancing.
* Basic knowledge of thermal and structural simulation tools is a plus.
* Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, machining, or prototyping is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Fast learner, proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving skills.
