Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Operations Manager with a strong background in process improvement to join our team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA). This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and contribute to the success of the world's largest lithium-ion battery initiative. The Quality Operations Manager will work together with the Operations, Product and Process development teams, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

Essential Duties:

* Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
* Establish and maintain quality management systems, including document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal audit programs.
* Develop and lead a team of quality supervisors, technicians, and inspectors to execute daily, weekly and monthly quality functions.
* Organize and lead day-to-day quality GEMBA to ensure proper operations of QA team functions.
* Develop and manage training for all quality operations roles.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
* Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
* Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and improve product quality.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization projects.
* Develop and manage PECNA VDA 6.3 Process Audit program and ensure proper execution with corrective and preventive actions.
* Communicate quality objectives, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to management and stakeholders.
* Develop and manage Nonconformance Report (NCR) process.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

* To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications:

Requirements: - Required and/or Preferred

Education

* Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. In lieu of education, have 5+ years of operations management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Preferred: Master's degree

Essential Qualifications

* A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management or operations roles within the battery manufacturing or other relevant high volume manufacturing industries.
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
* Experience leading cross-functional teams including Supervisors and hourly workforce.
* Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Proven agility in all levels of work processes.
* Able to make appropriate decisions when confronted with obstacles, think about them before acting, and consistently resolve issues in creative and effective ways.
* Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Collaborative nature with strong team building skills and willing to learn from and accept guidance from others.
* Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

* Six-Sigma Black Belt
* American Society for Quality (ASQ)
* Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
* Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
