Overview: This is a provisional appointment. Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job): Under the supervision of an employee of a higher grade, the Public Works Hokey performs entry-level work with a focus on cleaning sidewalks and gutters. Responsibilities: * Assigned to various districts to clean sidewalks and gutters of debris. * May clean other public areas as requested. * May be involved in Public Works Department operations in adverse weather conditions. * Performs related work as required. Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee. Qualifications: * Ability to follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to learn the use of tools and procedures necessary to perform assigned tasks. * Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED Terms: Union/Salary Plan/Grade: AFSCME/RA1-5 Hours per week: 40
