Responsibilities:

The Public Health Program Specialist is responsible for developing, Implementing, and coordinating health-related services for pregnant and postpartum women and their families, within a comprehensive model of preventative care. All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree in Nursing
* Licensed Registered Nurse required
* One year of community health nursing, with prenatal, postpartum or health education background preferred, with the ability to effectively plan and conduct health education services.
* Demonstrated skill in providing community health services, including through home visits, within low-income communities to families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
* Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
* Skill in teaching and mentoring professionals from various disciplines and backgrounds.
* Knowledge of the health care system and community health care resources. Knowledge of community health theories and best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to execute projects in an independent and responsive manner.
* Experience with staff supervision and program development.
* Skill in organizing and maintaining a comprehensive record-keeping system.
* Ability to speak clearly,concisely, and in an organized manner, along with the skill in writing clearly to articulate concepts and ideas in a logical fashion.
* Bilingual English/Spanish language skills required
* CPR/BLS;Fire Safety Cert; Valid CA driver's license and ability to make home visits to various Los Angeles locations.
