Overview:
What You'll Do
Ascension Island Public Health Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive health and safety practices across all operations on Ascension Island, ensuring compliance with local regulations, conducting risk assessments, delivering public health training, investigating incidents, and promoting a strong culture within the island community, often working in a remote and challenging environment with limited resources. Responsible for the day-to-day operational execution of all Public Health Manager, Environmental Safety and Health Program functions for the customer across the Area of responsibility, and for the Public Health Program. The Public Health Manager will provide leadership to a multi-cultural workforce. They will be responsibility for overall problem resolution, planning, execution, and leadership of Public Health functions across the Program and serves as a member of the Sr. Leadership team. The Public Health must demonstrate exemplary management and leadership capabilities, especially in the areas of collaboration, team building, talent development, fiscal and human resources management, and process improvement. The Public Health Manager respects and responds to the Voice of the Customer (VOC); leads the Program Team to the highest level of execution of the Performance Work Statement (PWS); and ensures the alignment of the program with the vision and goals of the Customer and Vectrus.

* Supervision and Management
* Plans, coordinates, administers, and oversees all the Public Health Manager program activity
* Coordination with Sr. Leadership and customer Sr. Leadership
* Develop Public Health office budgets and accounts for expenditures
* Reviews reports, develops, and presents presentations, and provides oversite in the establishment and execution of policies and procedures
* Performs other duties and assignments as required
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications
* Education:
* One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
* High School graduate
* Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or other engineering or science degree with courses in Environmental
* Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and Safety
* Certifications:
* Preferred
* PMP,
* CSP,
* CIH,
* CFPS,
* CHMM,
* Professional Engineer certification
* Experience:
* Experience: Preferred
* Minimum of 12-15 years of Public Health Manager operations experience.
* Ten (10) years specialized experience in progressively responsible positions encompassing the following: understanding of operational planning, logistics, data.
* collection and a broad knowledge of the organization and functions of Public Health Manager or Environmental Safety and Health.
* Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in MED Management.
* Experience in overseas Installations Safety Preferred-Must be knowledgeable in the following subject areas: General Industry, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),
* Safety Training, Radiation Protection, Hazardous Communication, Confined Space Operations, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Blood Borne
* Pathogens, Medical Surveillance, Industrial Hygiene, Job Hazard Analysis, Sight Protection, Safety Inspections, and Accident Investigation and Reporting
* Procedures.
* ISO 14000 Environmental Management Programs, Pollution Prevention, Integrated Solid Waste Management, Overall Compliance.
* Should be familiar with Environmental Safety and Public Health Manager operations as they relate to an installation level mission.
* Other Requirements:
* Extensive experience in MED Management and operations or equivalent civilian experience required.
* Must have industrial PH training and experience that have provided a broad and comprehensive knowledge of the theory, principles and methods required.to plan, track and execute a robust PH Program.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
* Prior safety management experience in the installation level, with a good knowledge of the overseas Safety Program and the Environmental Program o Public Health Manager.
* Skills and Technology Used:
* Excellent oral and written communications skills
* Knowledge of AR 385-10, DA PAM 385-10, AR 200-1, OEBGD, OSHA standards 29 CFR 1910 and 1926; 49 CFR HAZMAT; 40 CFR, NIOSH, and ANSI safety standards as well as all local governance and Host Nation laws.
* Ability to handle a fast-paced working environment.
* Ability to be flexible and handle changing requirements
