EO/AA This position provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services of a clinical nature through direct patient care and consultation to hospital and Huntsman Mental Health Institute patients. Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes. HMHI day treatment programs provide 40 hours per week of clinical care to youth with mental health issues. Teenscope South provides services for adolescents (12-17). We work on a multi-disciplinary team with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, education specialists, music and recreation therapists, and psychiatric technicians. The role of the psychologist in day treatment is to function as the primary therapist in creating and implementing treatment plans to build skills of teens and return them to the ability to function in daily life within 4-6 weeks. Psychologists in day treatment conduct individual and family therapy, run groups, and help shape milieu inventions. They are also the primary contact for families during the patient's admission to the program and play a key role in implementation and coordination of care. In addition, psychologists administer psychological testing to assist in diagnostic clarification. Ideal candidates have strong clinical skills, have worked with adolescents, children and their families and have experience on a multidisciplinary team. Experience administering personality and intellectual assessments is required, and competence administering the ADOS is strongly preferred. Proficiency with technology, including Google applications and Zoom, is also preferred. Responsibilities: * Evaluates patients to determine status. * Provides direct psychological services for hospital and/or Huntsman Mental Health Institute patients. * Collaborates with University and community agencies and departments to provide psychological and social services through outreach and consultation programs. * Develops mental health programs of a remedial, developmental, and preventive nature. * Trains and supervises doctoral psychology interns and externs. * Assists in directing or working within agency program and support areas, as assigned by director. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities * Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. * Program development and evaluation skills. * Outreach consultation skills. * Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills. * Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served. * Ability to provide patient care to patients and families resistant to treatment and delivering quality care within the constraints of managed care. Qualifications: QualificationsRequired * Ph.D or Psy.D. degree from an APA accredited graduate program in counseling, school or clinical psychology. * One year experience in psychotherapy, group or family therapy within a clinical setting. Licenses Required * Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. * Current licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Utah. * Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
