Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive behavior/mental health care within the regulatory guidelines set by the State of California, Rural health Clinic Code of Federal Regulations and California Medical Board.
* Obtain a health history and access the stated health of the patient in order to determine health care needs and document
findings in the medical record.
* Prescribe and administer medical treatments and medication as appropriate.
* Maintain confidentiality of PHI and ensure patient's right to privacy.
* Order, perform and interpret routine laboratory/diagnostic tests; notify patients of results as appropriate.
* Orient, evaluate and provide supervision/collaboration of the physician assistant/nurse practitioner.
* Consult and instruct patients regarding care and encourage wellness and restoration through continued follow-up care.
* Refer patients for specialized care, evaluation and diagnostics based upon identified need.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
* At least one year experience in outpatient psychiatry setting.
Education:
* Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) - Graduate of an approved medical school.
* Completed internship and/or residency.
* Demonstrated insurability for professional liability
* Licensed as a physician in the state of California (MD or DO), Board Certification, current DEA license, current AHA approved CPR-BLS certificate.
