Overview:
The Psychiatric ARNP, under the supervision of the staff psychiatrist, assumes responsibility for the admission, continuing care, and discharge of patients. The position provides leadership to the multi-disciplinary treatment team and participates in performance improvement and other activities.
Responsibilities:
* Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans and oversee ongoing care, including medication management.
* Monitor patients' progress, conduct daily rounds, and document all services provided in the medical record.
* Ensure timely completion of all required documentation, including discharge summaries and reports to the court.
* Participate in departmental meetings, workgroups, and committees as assigned.
* Adhere to facility policies and procedures regarding safety, abuse reporting, and alternatives to seclusion and restraint.
Qualifications:
Education
* Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
* Advanced degree in nursing qualifying as an ARNP
Experience
* Three (3) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Three (3) years of experience in clinical psychiatry.
Licenses/Certifications
* Current licensure in compliance with State statute as an ARNP
* American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred
* DEA registration
