Job Summary:

The Project Scheduler assists and supports all planning and scheduling activities of the project through the application of diversified controls, systems, principles, and practices. The position works under direct supervision, gathers and distributes information, and reports directly to the Scheduling Manager or Scheduling Director. The Project Scheduler must be a team player and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work closely with superintendents, project managers and other team members to develop and maintain schedules in all phases of a project.
* Maintain progress status, provide reporting, incorporate changes & additions, perform schedule analysis, and other duties as assigned. 
* Plan, coordinate & maintain all scheduling activities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provide development/implementation of Skanska's project controls standards and procedures.
* Interface/maintain liaison with project team, owner representatives, trade partners etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions.
* Represent Skanska and the project in meetings with owner, A/E representatives and other contractors as required.
* Ensure that corporate planning and scheduling standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
* Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients

Education and Experience: 

Required Qualifications: 

* Working knowledge of P6
* Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
* 5+ years of related experience within large scale projects
* Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management or 8 years equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of construction and general industry
* Strong written and verbal communication skills 
* Strong collaborator that works with all levels of our organization and project sites to be a resource
* Dependable and able to travel to jobsites throughout the local office geography
* Quick decision Maker
* Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality

Competencies / Skills: 

Has basic understanding in

Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects. 

Plans and Specifications: Reads and interprets architectural / structural plans and other design documents to understand the project scope, phasing, logistics, constraints, and different components of the project. 

Scheduling Tools & Software: Utilizes Skanska standard scheduling tools and technology to develop manage and analyze project schedules. 

Contract Management: Reviews the terms of the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements with special focus on scheduling-specific clauses to implement the contractual requirements in the scheduling process and provides input to the project team as necessary. 

Schedule Management: Monitors project progress by walking jobsites, gathering schedule update information from project teams, facilitating schedule update meetings, participating in owner's meetings, and communicating schedule update, reports and analysis to project stakeholders. 

Scheduling Tools & Software: Utilizes Skanska standard scheduling tools and technology to develop manage and analyze project schedules. 

Travel Requirements: Less than 20%

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripherial vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
