Job Summary:

The Project Manager manages the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome and administers both the owner and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects.  The Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff.  The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

* Creates documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
* Works with a preconstruction group to plan projects for success (e.g., procurement, logistics planning, constructability, scope reviews, budgeting, and costing).
* Mentorship of interns and project engineers
* Manages the design process and relationships between design and construction to ensure the designer delivers quality, budget conscious, and complete documents on schedule.
* Reads and understands construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Has the ability to outline specifications required for submission to client and ensuring submittals are approved.
* Creates and validates financial forecasts of costs for upcoming activities and projects.
* Analyzes client needs and applies market knowledge to determine business growth opportunities.
* Develops and oversees the implementation of strategies and action plans to target and pursue additional business with existing clients and new business opportunities.
* Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and; mentoring others and enforce IFE- Care For Life programs on projects.
* Create the Skanska QAQC plan and hold the team responsible for adherence.  Hold the sub-contractors responsible for their QAQC program.
* Maintain the Skanska culture.
* As a Project Manager on an active construction site, this position requires regular and consistent on-site attendance to monitor and observe construction operations and participate in scheduled and ad hoc production, safety, and supervisory meetings. Additionally, as a manager/supervisor, your presence is required to oversee the work of employees in addition to providing real-time feedback, mentoring, and coaching as needed.

Education and Experience: 

Required Qualifications:

* 3+ years proven track record of assuring client satisfaction.
* 3+ years track record of delivering on-time projects. 
* 3+ years of experience maintaining or exceeding planned profit targets for projects.
* 3+ years creating and maintaining a culture of safety.
* 3+ years' experience developing a culture of quality assurance and control.
* 3+ years' experience managing subcontractor relationships.
* Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Preferred Procore Construction Management certification 
* Preferred experience with broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within electrical construction.
* Preferred CMIT certificate
* Working knowledge of design and drawing software to including, but not limited to, Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, NAVIA, and Bluebeam 
* Working knowledge of BIM 360 and BIM 360 Plan
* Working knowledge of Prolog and Primavera P6
* Experience with JD Edwards for timekeeping, project costs, and other project financials.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience utilizing email, phone, and Microsoft office platforms.
* Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

*  Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects safely.

*  Commercial Management: Negotiates and manages development and execution of the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements. Develops, monitors, tracks, and negotiates project costs to ensure projects are successful and profitable. Ensures the financial interests of the company are protected while maintaining positive client relationships.

Has demonstrated proficiency in:

*  Business Development - Operations: Analyzes client needs and applies market knowledge to determine business growth opportunities. *  Preconstruction Planning - Project Management Building: Partners with preconstruction group to plan the project for success (e.g., procurement, logistics planning, scope reviews, budgeting and costing).

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
