Overview:

Job Summary:
The Project Engineer works on-site within the Project Management Team and is responsible for contract setup, submittals, assisting with the bid package process, change orders and assisting with the scheduling of the project. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Project Engineer will be involved in. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Setup initial contracts and project information in PMIS.
* Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
* Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs.
* Assist in management of project documentation organization.
* Assist in management of project permit process.
* Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement.
* Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and material delivery.
* Assist in tracking trade contractor installation progress and quality control. Ensure that Skanska and its sub-contractors have a proper QAQC program document and are prosecuting it accordingly.
* Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders with project managers.
* Track and inspect material deliveries.
* Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and enforce IFE and Care for Life program on projects with the project team.
* Learn and support the Skanska Culture and way of working and executing projects.
* As a Project Engineer on an active construction site, this position requires regular and consistent on-site attendance to monitor and observe construction operations and participate in scheduled and ad hoc production, safety, and supervisory meetings.

Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* 1-3 Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
* 1-3 years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
* 1-3 years' experience with project close out.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering/construction management or 8 years equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Preferred Procore Construction Management certification
* Preferred experience with broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within electrical construction.
* Preferred CMIT certificate
* Working knowledge of design and drawing software to including, but not limited to, Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, NAVIA, and Bluebeam
* Working knowledge of BIM 360 and BIM 360 Plan
* Working knowledge of Prolog and Primavera P6
* Experience with JD Edwards for timekeeping, project costs, and other project financials.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience utilizing email, phone, and Microsoft office platforms.
* Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

* Subcontractor Management: Monitors, inspects subcontractor activities to ensure they are performing the work safely, are adhering to schedule, and are producing quality work to ensure they are in line with subcontractor agreements and our client contract obligations.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
