GFT is seeking a Project Engineer, Hydraulics to join our Hydraulics Team in Houston, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Houston, TX office.

What you'll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Hydraulics Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The Hydraulic Project Engineer will perform engineering calculations, technical studies and prepares plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects, including impact analysis, roadway drainage and master drainage plans. Provides general oversight, control, and management of H&H analysis and design tasks for a project. Perform client and project management duties. Prepares technical reports and letters.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Lead the development of drainage impact studies, master plans and engineering reports (including CLOMRS & LOMRS)
* Lead the development of project design concepts, criteria, construction plans and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance
* Work with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work
* Analyze complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
* Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability
* Provide input for proposals and pursuit of new projects
* Supervision of junior level staff
* Makes recommendations on project staffing
* Communicates independently with clients
* Manages design team integrated with multiple disciplines of about 5-10 people
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
* Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
* 8+ Years of relevant experience involving H&H Projects
* Experience with Project proposals and Presentations
What we prefer you bring:
* Expertise with ArcGIS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, XP SWMM (1D/2D), AutoCAD/MicroStation (preferred)
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
