Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Civil/Site Land Development team in Phoenix, AZ. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona, with the option of office-based work in the West Valley (I-10 & 101) or Central Valley (E. Camelback Rd. & N 24th St.)

Responsibilities:
* Review of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine the property's land development limitations.
* Site Investigation and Due Diligence include reviewing ordinances, conducting utility service research, examining outside agency regulations, and conducting site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.
* Preparation of Concept Drawings based on the client's development objectives and due diligence conclusions. This involves preparing a concept plan, including coordination with Design technicians.
* Leadership role in the review and design of Stormwater Management & Stormwater Conveyance Systems, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydrology design software.
* Skills should include the preparation of pipe sizing calculations for stormwater conveyance systems, including drainage area maps.
* Surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity & hydraulic grade line evaluation using the Rational Method & Manning's Equation.
* Knowledge of local stormwater management design regulations.
* Grading Design to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished using appropriate design slopes.
* Subdivision and site plan design and layout.
* Design of Utility Systems, including public water and sewer mains, as well as provision of water and sanitary sewer services. This also involves determining and resolving any vertical and horizontal utility conflicts that may exist.
* Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence.
* Prepare construction cost estimates based on site plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposes.
* Ability to work independently, as well as lead a team of other engineers.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* 4-7+ years of related experience.
* Engineer in Training required.
* Professional Engineer license (as required) preferred.
* Valid driver's license preferred.
* Knowledge of the local municipal, county, and state land use, planning, and zoning processes and regulations.
* Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend written job-related communications, verbal instructions, and interactions.
* Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development-related designs.
* Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
* Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
