				Overview:

The Project Controls Coordinator is largely responsible for the logging and distribution of all relevant project controls documents to the Project team. He/she supervises and directs all planning and scheduling activities of the project through the application of diversified controls, systems, principles and practices. He/she works under direct supervision, gathers and distributes information and will also supervise other administrative personnel related to Project Controls.

Job Summary:

The Project Controls Coordinator is largely responsible for the logging and distribution of all relevant project controls documents to the Project team. He/she supervises and directs all planning and scheduling activities of the project through the application of diversified controls, systems, principles and practices. He/she works under direct supervision, gathers and distributes information and will also supervise other administrative personnel related to Project Controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

* Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation
* Independently manage the development/implementation of project controls standards and
* procedures
* Interface/and act as liaison with project management, owner, subcontractors, etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions, including making independent determinations as to reporting requirements, progress status, new impacts, etc.
* Manage meetings with owner, client representatives and other contractors as required
* Understanding of corporate planning and schedule standards and how they are implemented to aid Managers in ensuring that project related activities comply
* Maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients
* Maintain budgets for a project, including forecasting and recommending adjustments to the project budget
* Input and monitor costs and progress. This includes coding and/or reviewing the coding of timesheets, invoices, etc. for accuracy
* Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly project forecasts
* Prepare and/or review monthly billings to Owner
* Assist in the preparation and negotiation of cost proposals for additional work including tracking Time & Material work

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree - Construction, Business, or Engineering or equivalent experience.  
* 3 years prior relevant experience.
* Practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Has demonstrated proficiency in:

* Client Delight: Builds relationships with individuals within client organizations to coordinate work and make decisions at the appropriate level for the short-term project and long-term partnership.
* Conflict / Dispute Resolution: Handles conflicts and de-escalates disputes between parties. Negotiates resolutions that are agreeable to both parties.
* Project Cost Management - Project Controls: Monitors, tracks, and forecasts self-perform and general requirement project costs and quantities, including labor, equipment, materials and cash flow to ensure projects are successful and profitable.
* Tools & Technology - Project Controls: Identifies and uses the appropriate technology and systems for project controls (e.g. JD Edwards, DAS, OnBase, Heavy Job, Procore, Microsoft, etc.)

Has a basic understanding of:

* Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects safely.
* Data Analytics - Project Controls: Analyzes and interprets complex data; Summarizes and disseminates recommendations to internal stakeholders.
* Owner Change Management: Considers the requirements of owner contracts and agreements when identifying necessary changes to ensure the quality and safety of the project. Tracks, corresponds, provides input into pricing, negotiates and reports these change events.
* Owner Contract Management: Reviews client contracts; negotiates payment cycle and change order terms; tracks and collects payments from clients.
* Risk and Opportunity Management - Project Controls: Identifies, evaluates and reports potential risks and opportunities related to operations, contracts, or project execution.
* Subcontractor / Vendor Change Management: Considers the requirements of subcontractor / vendor contracts and agreements when identifying necessary changes to ensure the quality and safety of the project. Tracks, corresponds, provides input into pricing, negotiates and reports these change events.
* Subcontractor / Vendor Contract Management: Administers and tracks subcontractor contracts and payments; collects paperwork from subcontractor; negotiates payment terms with subcontractors.

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
