Overview: The Program Manager II is responsible for the execution and management of complex programs that support departmental and cross-departmental initiatives. This role involves managing multiple projects, coordinating resources, and ensuring program objectives are met. The Program Manager will engage with stakeholders to facilitate program success and drive continuous improvement. Focuses on aligning projects within the program to achieve strategic goals. The Gastrointestinal Cancer Center is currently recruiting a Program Manager for the Older Adult Gastrointestinal Cancer (OAGC) program. The Program Manager will focus on supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of older adults diagnosed with esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver, biliary tract, small bowel, colorectal, anal or neuroendocrine cancer. The Program Manager will lead development of the longitudinal Pancreas and Biliary Tract disease-specific implementation, patient and provider engagement, and evaluation of the OAGC. This position requires program management skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, resourcefulness, professional maturity, and analytic ability. The OAGC Program Manager will report to the Administrative Director and work closely with the OAGC founding medical director, Dr Nadine Jackson McCleary, research program manager, program coordinator, leadership within the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, and collaborators advancing older adult care across DFCI. This position's work location is hybrid with two or three days per week remote. The selected candidate may only work remote days from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI). Responsibilities: * Scope and Complexity: Manages moderately complex programs that span multiple departments, coordinating related projects to support cross-departmental initiatives. * Decision Making: Make informed decisions about resource allocation and project timelines, with some autonomy in resolving operational challenges. * Stakeholder Interaction and Communication: Engage with a broader range of stakeholders, including department heads and project leads, to gather requirements and provide updates. * Program Management: Plan and manage program activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and efficient use of resources. * Quality Assurance and Performance Monitoring: Track program progress and performance metrics, report findings to stakeholders and recommend improvements. * Documentation: Maintain accurate program documentation and ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures. * Risk Management: Identify potential risks to program success and implement mitigation strategies to address them. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required. * Five (5) years of relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibility of which at least two (2) years must be in program management OR comparable roles. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Solid understanding of program management methodologies and practices. * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. * Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. * Proficiency in project management software and tools. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
