Job Summary:
As part of the YMCA of Greater Seattle's Health and Social Services Center of Excellence, this mission driven role provides strategic leadership and support for the association's Whole Person Health strategy, with a focus in the areas of physical fitness, health intervention programs, education and other wellness programs that support members and participants in reaching their fullest potential. This executive leadership position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating health and wellness offerings related to personal trainings, individual and group fitness, while supporting chronic disease and health intervention programs, nutrition services, and health education. This position will be an organizational champion for health equity and works in partnership with other Centers of Excellence and Y operations to ensure programming and services are accessible to all at the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
Hiring Range: $80,000 - $90,000/annually DOE

Responsibilities:
* As part of the Health and Social Services Center of Excellence, develops organizational whole person health and wellness strategies that support all members and program participants to reach their fullest potential.
* Supports strategic priorities and action steps that address community health equity issues in partnership and collaboration with other Centers of Excellence, Y branches and community.
* Develops and implements organizational best practices and protocols to ensure and monitor standardized quality programming for all health and wellness related offerings.
* Develops and implements continuous quality assessment systems and protocols to ensure members and community have a positive customer experience. Oversees collaboration with Customer Experience Center of Excellence in joint efforts to acquire and retain YMCA members.
* Develops and implements healthy living tools in support of key performance indicators, with an emphasis on relationships, belonging, and achievement.
* Assist in developing ongoing data systems and tools that track member and participant health and wellness outcomes.
* Using a data-driven approach, identifies opportunities for program improvement and new innovative program models including programs that are delivered live and on-demand, in-person and virtually.
* Responsible for the development and oversight of operational program-specific and department budgets, including monitoring and forecasting.
* Ensures that there is a diverse array of quality health and wellness programming for seniors and active older adults.
* Designs, implements and ensures best practices for hiring, training, and onboarding health and wellness staff, coaches and navigators with an emphasis on whole person health throughout the association.
* Ensures systems are in place that track staff certifications, licenses and other requirements for health and wellness positions.
* Delivers and facilitates assigned training.
* Provides support and association-level leadership to branch health and wellness staff. Supports branch leadership in the assessment, evaluation, and coaching of branch health and wellness.
* Provides support for committees and task forces as assigned.
* Collaborate to promote healthy living case for support in annual campaigns, and other association-wide events that promote the Y healthy living in the community.

Code of Conduct for Applicants
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in exercise science, public health, or similar field preferred. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
* Seven or more years of experience leading large complex health and wellness operations that include but not limited to, Whole Person Health programming such as behavior change programs, chronic disease prevention, group exercise, senior and active older adult programming, personal training, nutrition consultations or another closely related field
* Knowledge of, and experience in, training and development needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
* Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants of health and health inequities in King County
* Experience in budget creation, management and reporting
* Strong training delivery, facilitation and instruction experience
* Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to motivate and coach individuals
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to organize and prioritize duties
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Knowledge of stages of behavior change and experience with motivational interviewing
* Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and curriculum development techniques
* Creative ability, writing proficiency, visual graphics design ability
* Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
* Ability to speak any language in addition to English
* Past experience working in YMCA membership or health and wellness
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Hybrid work model (2-3 days in-office)
