Overview: Professional Biller - Radiology UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital Full-time days with variable hours Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, this person provides professional billing and coding services for providers employed by UnityPoint Health. This team member will perform all professional charging activity on patient accounts, from origination to payment in full, including management of denials. Activities include, but not limited to; professional billing/ICD-10 coding, maintaining EPIC account work queues (coding and denials), documenting needed information, and handling all patient/company contact in a professional manner. Responsibilities: * Answer questions as needed and conduct other duties as needed to facilitate the smooth flow of the billing process. * Obtains and sends medical records as requested with checking on patient authorization. * Assist patients with any questions regarding professional billing. * Codes and corrects professional charges in a timely manner. * Provide assistance or direction to complete required medical information forms as needed. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * One to two years of current experience in medical coding * Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and coding principles * Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel * Must possess excellent communication skills when dealing with co-workers, physicians, patients, families and significant others * Must be organized, pleasant, calm and energetic, who likes to work in a fast-paced environment. * Computer literate * Willing to learn additional billing work and take on additional responsibilities as workload allows
