Job Title: Produce Evening Supervisor 

FLSA Status: Hourly 

Reports To: Produce Department Manager 

Are you a leader with a passion for fresh produce and a dedication to outstanding guest service? As an Evening Produce Department Leader at Festival Foods, you'll support the Produce Department Manager in overseeing night operations and ensuring a high standard of care for our fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables. Your role will involve working closely with the team to meet department goals, provide guidance to associates, and ensure that our guests receive only the best quality products. You'll help maintain smooth evening operations, ensuring that policies are followed, and that every guest enjoys a great shopping experience. 

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:  

As a Produce Evening Supervisor at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include: 

* Assisting Leadership: Support the Produce Department Manager by closely working with all Produce associates to ensure a consistently enjoyable shopping experience, adherence to company policies and procedures, and fulfillment of department goals and objectives. 

* Reinforcing Culture: Promote Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Produce associates. 

* Training Support: Assist in training new Produce associates and provide re-training as necessary. 

* Guidance and Support: Answer questions and offer guidance to all Produce department associates. 

* Quality Assurance: Ensure all department standards are being met within the Produce department by observing sales floor and back stock conditions and taking action to correct any areas of opportunity. 

* Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure accurate pricing on products sold. 

* Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Store Director, Produce Manager/Assistant Manager, other Department Managers, and Produce associates to uphold standards and exceed guest expectations. 

* Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests in finding items, taking orders, and handling special requests. Answer the telephone and assist callers using proper phone etiquette, addressing guest concerns and resolving issues when guests are not satisfied with the service or product received. 

* Leading by Example: Assist all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing and cleaning work areas, shelving, and the sales floor as needed. 

* Food Safety Compliance: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm. 

* Other Duties: Complete other duties as assigned and maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

To succeed as a Festival Foods Produce Evening Supervisor, you should have: 

* Interpersonal Skills: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel. 

* Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment. 

* Safety Awareness: Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, with the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Proper training and knowledge of equipment/procedures such as slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers are essential. 

* Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail food business, with a thorough understanding of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

* Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. 

* Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. 

Work Schedule: 

The Produce Evening Supervisor is a full-time hourly position. 

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Performs tasks as delegated by the Produce Department Manager and effectively leads the Produce Department in the absence of the Department Manager.
* Reinforces Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Produce associates.
* Assists in training new Produce associates, and re-trains as necessary 
* Answers questions and provides guidance to all Produce department associates
* Ensures all department standards are being met in the Produce department.
* Observes sales floor and back stock conditions; takes action to correct areas of opportunity
* Maintains appropriate stock levels and ensures accurate pricing on products sold
* Communicates and works cooperatively with Store Director, Produce Manager/Assistant Manager, other Department Managers and Produce associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations
* Provides customer service to guests.
* Assists guests with finding items they are looking for
* Takes orders and other special requests
* Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
* Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
* Assists all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example.
* Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
* Required to maintain food safety logs.
* Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
