Overview:
This technical position requires a self-motivated, skilled technician to perform electro-mechanical testing and analysis on AC and DC powered fan/motor assemblies and electronic subassemblies. The position can require electrical failure analysis on assemblies down to a component level including PCBA analysis down to component level. The position also requires a hands-on approach to learning and analysis along with the ability to work with people of all skill levels.
Compensation
Salary Minimum: $50,000
Salary Maximum: $70,000
Responsibilities:
* Performs failure analysis on units built in production and documents results. Recommends repair methods and authors instructions for others to follow. Identifies failure trends and maintains detailed records of work results.
* Assists Process Engineers and/or Manufacturing in a variety of duties involving the testing/analysis of AC and DC powered motor assemblies.
* Trains and instructs other workers as assigned.
* Maintain good standards of quality and quantity of work performed.
* Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times.
* Complies with company rules, policies, and procedures. Reports unusual or problem circumstances to manager.
* May on occasion, perform other related duties to aid other teams on request.
* Provides detailed work instructions to production to bring a unit back into compliance.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Strong understanding of electronics and electrical principles in electrical motor operations,
* Knowledge of J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electronic Components, ANSI 20.20 - ESD Protection, a plus.
* Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Requirements and Protocols, a plus.
* Electrical failure analysis skills down to the component level may be required on electronic assemblies, circuit boards, motors, and electro-mechanical products such as fans and blowers.
* Ability to troubleshoot and perform analysis on printed circuit board assemblies from schematics and drawings down to a component level.
* Fundamental understanding of AC and brushless DC motor theory and operation.
* Works from sketches (schematics), blueprints, customer specs, mil specs, mil standards, written and oral instructions, and engineering orders. Use of a computer, hand tools, precision measuring and testing equipment.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a necessity.
Education and Experience:
Two years technical degree required in electronics, 4 year preferred in electrical engineering or equivalent. Years of experience in an electronics field will also be considered.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
