Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As the Printer Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions that keep the park running smoothly.
Job Summary:
The Print Shop Lead is responsible for the production of a wide variety of printed and graphic art products. Create, design, and edit graphic art to fit the needs of park-wide departments. Some independence is exercised in determining procedures and scheduling of operations.

Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: March 2026 - November 2026
Pay: $24.10/hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
* In-plant printing of menus, promotional materials, informational materials, employment applications and office forms.
* Design and produce printer ready work required for the in-plant production of materials.
* Assemble recognition plaques, formatting posters and certificates.
* Design and fabricate all types of operational and promotional signs.
* Responsible for the lay-out, graphics and artwork for special projects.
* Responsible for charging the cost of paper and supplies used in the completion of each job back to the departments requisitioning work.
* Maintain and control an adequate inventory of paper and printing supplies in stock for immediate and future use.
* Ability to safely operate the following equipment; cameras, plate maker, paper collator, paper folder, paper cutter, paper drill, photo offset duplicators, high capacity digital copier, wide format printer.
* Inspects work in progress and finished materials to see that quality & quantity standards are met.
* Communicate & prioritize printing needs with every department and all levels of management within the Company.
* Ability to train, supervise, and direct the work of a staff of printing personnel.
* Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, well-organized shop.
* Document & prioritize incoming & outgoing jobs.
* Serves as a liaison between print-shop assistants, park-wide departments stakeholders, and Support Services Manager.
* Able to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders to develop ideas, strategies, and create an end product that fit those needs.
* Explain functionality between departments to part time & seasonal workers.
* Ability to resolve problems with outside vendors, equipment, and accountants.
Qualifications:
* Proficient in the operation of all print shop equipment. Must have artistic, graphics and lay-out skills.
* Proficient in time and cost management.
* Proficiency in the techniques and methods needed to produce camera ready work for printing.
* Must have a good fundamental knowledge of the photographic process involved with printing.
* Proficient in the use of art materials and tools required to produce high quality work.
* Proficient in the techniques of silk screening including the proper use of air brush equipment.
* Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign.
* Knowledge about copyright and production laws.
Physical Requirements include:
* Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
* Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours.
* Must be able to bend over, push, pull and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to move pallets and over-sized boxes of uncut paper that are warehoused at Support Services as needed, several times a week in the high demand season.
* 8-10 hour shifts working at the computer on layouts are regularly needed.
