				Overview:

Our Wireless Technology team is transforming the future of connectivity by building and enhancing the country's first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch. Our network is free of the limitations of the past, and flexible to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.

Responsibilities:

Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.

We are seeking a Wireless Standards Engineer with proven expertise in 3GPP RAN4 and/or RAN5. This role will lead spectrum strategy efforts, define and analyze NR and 6G band combinations, and drive innovative features to optimize DISH's spectrum utilization.

Key Responsibilities:
* Represent the company as a 3GPP RAN spectrum domain expert in RAN4 (Radio Performance & Protocol Aspects) and RAN5 (UE Test Specification) meetings.

* Drive technology analysis and strategic proposals for spectrum and non-spectrum topics, supporting Boost's long-term TN/NTN 6G band and CA/DC strategy.

* Define, analyze, and defend band/band combination requirements and testing procedures for DISH spectrum in 5G and 6G, including TN and NTN bands.

* Lead proposals for High Power Class UE across DISH bands, considering multiple RF architectures (e.g., 2Tx/3Tx) and conduct coexistence/interference studies.

* Build and influence relationships with vendors, operators, and industry bodies, while collaborating cross-functionally to shape spectrum strategy.

* Share knowledge through documentation, training, and updates on emerging technologies, with ability to travel for standardization and technical meetings.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field, with 10+ years in wireless standards development, particularly 3GPP.

* Proven experience in RAN4 (RF) and RAN5 (conformance testing), including UE/BS RF requirements, band definitions, CA/DC, and High Power UE.

* Deep expertise in RF requirements, performance, protocol measurements, UE test specifications, and conformance/interoperability testing for TN and NTN.

* Strong knowledge of RF architectures (2Tx/3Tx), MSD analysis, NTN bands/architecture, and working knowledge across RAN1-RAN3 and SA.

* Track record of submitting requests, draftCR/CR for 5G EN-DC/NR-CA or other RAN4/RAN5 proposals.

* Excellent communication, documentation, negotiation, and consensus-building skills in multi-company, multi-national standardization environments.

Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience with standardization efforts and delegation for 3GPP RAN4 Release 15 and beyond
* Experience in hands-on radio link level/system level simulation
* Familiarity with testing tools and equipment such as Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, or similar
* Experience with contributing to regional standardization bodies (e.g., ETSI, ITU-R) or industry forums (e.g., GCF, PTCRB)
