Within the Supply Chain Department, we ensure supply of Waters' specialty measurement instruments and related consumables products to our customers worldwide. Specifically, our team are responsible for: production planning, supplier management & procurement, new product introduction, inventory control and logistics & trade compliance. We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Trade and Compliance Specialist! You will collaborate with a complementary team who are accountable for both strategic and tactical supply chain activities. This role focuses on supporting management reports & solutions for supply chain operations metrics and business performance. The role also provides hands-on tactical support for Trade, Compliance and freight. The position would suit a team worker who is seeking an exciting career in a dynamic Supply Chain environment.

This role will follow a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site attendance at Wexford three days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Role / Responsibilities 

* Manage, maintain & continuously improve all aspects of the Freight, Duty, Customs and Trade Compliance function providing strategic & tactical direction to the supply chain team assuring logistics security, compliance and continuity
* Collaborate & partner with peer groups to ensure alignment and synergy of priorities on an ongoing basis
* Develop and implement strategies and operational plans in support of site & Corp plans
* Manage all physical aspects of inbound / outbound freight logistics
* Manage & maintain Freight & Duty budget
* Evaluate, audit and manage service providers to ensure compliance to business goals and agreed SLA
* Manage & maintain Customs & Duty controls & reporting
* Manage & maintain Trade compliance governance
* Collaborate & advocate best practice / learning with external agencies &/or peer groups / sites
* Execute & deliver to all assigned project plans / milestones 

Qualifications:

Requirements

* Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Business, Logistics, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of Trade/Logistics experience required.
* Experience in import/export administration, including HS classification, Customs valuation, Customs clearance, Country of Origin - Awareness or experience of AEO accreditation / IP Inward Processing (advantageous but not crucial).
* Ability to identify and propose corrective actions to resolve import and export issues as they relate to internal systems, processes, customers, suppliers, and service providers.

* Previous experience in customs operations, trade compliance, or freight forwarding.
* Knowledge of SAP or equivalent MRP system 
* Solid understanding of Irish, EU, and international customs regulations.

Working 39 hrs per week, with fortnightly pay. 22 Days holidays, plus bank holidays.
