Responsibilities:
GFT is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead medium to large projects in our expanding growing architectural practice This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and to contribute to an expanding portfolio of work in the Greater New York area.
You will manage, coordinate and collaborate the activities of a multidisciplinary design department. The candidate will provide technical expertise while overseeing the resources for complete integrated design. You will be responsible for providing strategic thought leadership, building relationships, leading teams and supporting project development.
In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
* Lead architecture/engineering teams by providing design and technical input
* Lead multidisciplinary projects and coordinating with design, engineering, and construction management teams
* Manage resources and productivity/quality of local multidisciplinary teams
* Interact with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to coordinate project requirements and design intent and support business development activities
* Perform technical and quality reviews
* Collaborate closely with multiple business units to create integrated service offerings and ensure alignment with client needs.
* Work with clients to understand their project requirements and translate them into actionable plans, providing strategic consultation as needed.
* Communicate with Project Managers and Principals on project progress, issues, recommendations, and action plans
* Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast region to assist with business development and pursuit activities, participate in presentations to cultivate new and ongoing business endeavors
* Participate in professional or community organizations
* Mentor and inspire young staff
* Work collaboratively and positively in a team environment
Attributes of a Successful Candidate
* Strong strategic planning skills with experience in execution and hands-on leadership.
* Excellent collaboration skills: Able to work across different architectural and engineering groups to create cohesive team delivering quality design projects.
* Proven ability to deliver high quality design projects, the public and private sector.
* A demonstrated ability to drive business growth through managing and developing a multidisciplinary staff.
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Must possess in-depth knowledge of AEC project development and delivery
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
* 15+ years of experience within the AEC industry is required
* A track-record of successfully delivering complex projects, developing and cultivating client relationships, and building strategic partnerships.
* Required to be a Registered Architect
* Knowledge of GMP, Cost Plus Max and industry standard requirements
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite or Bluebeam Revu.
* Working knowledge of building materials and building codes or standards is required, including current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, and LEED.
* Ideal candidate must be dynamic, creative, and detail oriented with strong design and graphic skills.
* Experience managing a range of contracts from MSA's, IDIQ's, Design-Build and preparing bridging documents.
* Experience with developing level of effort and cost proposals.
* Experience in key markets such as NYC Housing Authority, NYC Department of Design and Construction correctional projects and other NYC public agencies.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $200,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
