Overview:
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Principal Investigator/ Research Scientist. This position will be located in Rome,NY and will an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
Conducts scientific research, development, prototyping, simulation, and integration of advanced technologies, including AI/ML, data analytics, CSFD prototypes, simulations, and system modeling. Advances algorithms, architectures, and prototypes that accelerate CSFD mission components. Bridges concept-to-field with defensible experiments and documentation. Executes Agile/DevSecOps practices for design, development, integration, transition, and sustainment of CSFD capabilities. Researches, designs, and demonstrates software/hardware prototypes that process, move, and store data globally with high availability, redundancy, and security, including cloud migration strategy and CI/CD across cloud and on-prem. Uses NVIDIA Triton with TensorFlow/PyTorch/ONNX backends to support research and analytics; integrates models across IL5/SIPR/JWICS with bi-weekly evaluations and dataset challenges. Operationalizes data curation, tagging, and 'Labeling on the Line' workflows and integrates into Government-owned labeling apps and repositories.
* Python/C++/Go, microservices, secure coding, containerization, automated testing with maintainable documentation, data structures/algorithms, GPU acceleration, and performance profiling across edge and cloud runtimes. Knowledge: ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX) and NVIDIA Triton inference operations in secure enclaves.
Qualifications:
PhD with 5+ years, Medical Degree (or commensurate experience)

* Clearance Required: TS/SCI
* DoDD 8140 IASAE Level I/II: (CASP+, CISSP, or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP))
* Secure Coding (e.g. OWASP), TensorFlow/PyTorch Fundamentals, Container Orchestration (Kubernetes), Cloud AI/ML Services, Advanced Signal Processing & Anomaly Detection, Cross-Domain Development, Ethical AI/Bias Analysis, Quantum Computing/Neuromorphic systems

* Prior experience working directly with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) or similar defense research agencies.
* Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Developer, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
