The President of the CommonSpirit Health Kansas market ministry includes St. Catherine Hospital - Garden City, St. Catherine Hospital - Dodge City, and Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital. This executive is responsible for providing leadership, direction and management pertaining to patient care, finance, quality standards, IT, staffing and human resources, network development, and other matters as defined. Additionally, this role will work with the Market President of Greater CO/KS in the development of the organization's mission and vision, policy and direction, strategic and tactical plans, relations with management, and organization-wide assessment and evaluation, including assessing and evaluating business unit executives and staff, and determining their assignment. The incumbent should have a flexible management style, with the ability to function in a complex culture with significant diversity, and be able to produce positive results. While providing leadership and direction, is willing to listen, take counsel, and balance the interests of diverse constituencies, and make decisions for the greater good of the whole. 

Understanding the leadership expectations of this position and the entire leadership team is crucial. The President KS Hospitals must have a personal and professional connection to the purpose and mission of our Christian organization, drive impact, inspire and empower, and champion excellence. Essential functional priorities of the role include:

Essential Functions:

* Serve as the local community liaison for the business with external constituencies to promote a healthcare environment favorable to the mission; establish relationships with business and community entities unit (e.g., community events, boards, partnerships) that promote the achievement of the mission and address community needs; establish and cultivate community boards that add value to each of its stakeholders.
* Work with corporate leaders to enhance group facilities product and service offerings and establish mutually beneficial business partnerships.
* Oversee the management and development of medical staff (e.g., physician relations, credential assignment, contracting, enforcing bylaws). Champion and promote the desired culture (i.e. Mission in Motion and a culture of continuous improvement) and group facility culture; provide leadership in the ongoing implementation of flexible and innovative physician alignment strategies which foster a commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, enhance patient satisfaction, and emphasize and promote the hospital's commitment to forging long-term partnerships with its loyal and highly credentialed medical staff.
* Challenge the group and/or facility teams to stretch toward excellence in every aspect of its work. Select, develop, and manage facility senior leadership team that enables the achievement of goals in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the organization; Cultivate talent to enable a smooth transition as senior leaders advance in the organization (i.e., promote effective succession planning).

* Direct facility strategic planning efforts; analyze and interpret information needed to develop strategic plans; Forecast critical milestones, identify potential obstacles and evaluate alternate courses of action; balance short-term and long-term strategic objectives to maximize facility and performance; Establish standards for patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* Graduate degree in health care administration, business, or related field is required.
* Ten years of experience in leadership within a comprehensive acute care setting or hospital organization; prior President or CEO experience is preferred.
* Experience in successfully integrating services within a large, complex health system.
* Experience leading in rural markets is highly desirable.
* Success in producing exemplary accomplishments in an environment of limited resources. 
* Demonstrated ability and leadership in change management.
* Experience in a highly competitive market.
* Fellow American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) is desirable.
