How a day to day would look like in this role:
Lead and oversee the strategic direction of business development efforts, and promote growth initiatives within the sales team. Set sales targets, formulate strategies to acquire new clients, explore new business opportunities, and expand market reach.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leadership: Lead and inspire the business development team, providing clear guidance and direction towards achieving sales objectives and growth targets.
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business development initiatives, aligning them with overall organizational goals and objectives.
* Sales Target Setting: Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets for the team, based on thorough market analysis and understanding of business trends.
* Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new clients, leveraging a combination of networking, lead generation, and relationship-building strategies.
* Market Expansion: Explore new markets and territories to expand the company's presence, identifying potential growth areas and developing entry strategies.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance metrics regularly, assessing progress against targets and taking corrective actions as needed to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
* Team Development: Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to the business development team, fostering their professional growth and development.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to align business development efforts with overall company objectives.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to continuously refine and improve business development strategies.
* Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
Qualifications:
Educational and Experience Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Wide experience in the sales sector within the IT industry, including leadership positions in commercial teams or customer success roles.
Required Skills:
* Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and exceeding revenue targets.
* Strong understanding of digital transformation initiatives and their alignment with business solutions.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends to drive strategic decisions.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Proficiency in CRM software and other sales productivity tools.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in a global or multicultural environment.
* Certification in business development or related field.
* Fluency in English. (B2 as minimum)
* Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
