Overview:
LMI is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with expertise in Microsoft Power Platform and strong project management skills to lead development efforts for a major office at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role combines hands-on technical development with project leadership responsibilities, driving solution design, managing delivery timelines, and guiding a team of developers to ensure mission success.
The Technical Lead will serve as both a strategic partner to business stakeholders and a technical leader for the delivery team, ensuring solutions are innovative, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.

Responsibilities:
* Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and delivery of solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
* Project Management: Oversee the development lifecycle, manage timelines, allocate resources, and ensure deliverables meet VA's mission and business objectives.
* Project Scheduling & Planning: Create and maintain project schedules and detailed project plans to track progress, dependencies, and milestones.
* Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog by prioritizing features, enhancements, and bug fixes in alignment with stakeholder needs and program objectives.
* Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Provide solution architecture guidance and ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of applications.
* Develop and maintain applications, workflows, automations, and dashboards to streamline business processes.
* Mentor and guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.
* Manage and resolve risks, dependencies, and issues across the project lifecycle.
* Integrate Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft services and third-party applications.
* Prepare project documentation, technical guides, and provide training as needed.
* Stay current on Power Platform updates and emerging technologies to recommend innovative improvements.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* 10+ years of experience in Microsoft technologies, including 3+ years of hands-on Power Platform development (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
* Proven experience leading technical teams or projects, with responsibility for delivery oversight.
* Proficiency in Power BI and other similar query languages (Power Query, M, DAX, SQL, R).
* Strong understanding of solution architecture, data integration, connectors, APIs, and security models.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, deliver under tight timelines, and balance both technical and business considerations.
* Experience creating and maintaining project schedules and plans using tools such as Microsoft Project.
* Demonstrated ability to lead requirements gathering workshops with customers at all levels within an organization.
* Experience managing and prioritizing a product backlog using tools such as Jira
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired:
* Previous VA or federal government experience; active or previously held Public Trust clearance.
* Previous experience interpreting mental health, suicide prevention data, and other electronic health records (EHR) data for clinical decision making and program evaluation.
* Project management certification or Agile experience (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, CSM, PSM).
* Demonstrated understanding of Human Capital Design (HCD) and/or User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) best practices when gathering requirements and developing technical solutions.
* Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
Target salary range: $100,000.00 - 125,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
