Overview: Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 paid out over 2 years Shift: Full-time; 12 hour shifts If you are passionate about improving lives through better sleep, this is your opportunity to shine! We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Polysomnography Technologist to join our dynamic Sleep Center team! Under the guidance of the department manager, you'll lead comprehensive sleep evaluations-both in-center and out of center - using cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic tools. You'll deliver personalized patient care, educate individuals on their sleep health, and make a meaningful impact on their well-being. Responsibilities: * Performs polysomnograms according to standards of department. * Administers oxygen (in accordance to physician orders) and/or nasal CPAP/BiPAP according to department procedure. Instructs patient on the proper use and care of the equipment. * Writes a comprehensive report on findings of the polysomnogram to include treatment levels (if used). * Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots the equipment to enhance the operation of each instrument. * Collects and/or reviews medical, historical, and medication information to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician. * Assumes responsibility for performing all types of Neurodiagnostic testing for adolescent, young/middle/mature adult patients and sleep disorder testing procedures for adolescent, young/middle/mature adult patients. * Evaluates patients' and significant others' educational needs and initiates and implements appropriate teaching or makes appropriate referrals. * Documents patient data thoroughly and accurately. * Communicates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. * Participates in unit operations demonstrating professional behaviors to include supporting goals of the unit and maintaining an awareness of resource utilization. * Participates in non-direct patient care activities including educational activities, quality improvement activities, standards development and review, hospital/unit committees and other related activities. Qualifications: Education: * Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Polysomnographic Technology, or Electro Neurodiagnostic Technology required. License/Certification: * Must acquire Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist certification through National Board of Respiratory Care or other related Healthcare related field within 1 year of start date. OR * Graduate of Respiratory Care or other related healthcare accredited program with Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) credential eligible. Will have one year from date of hire or transfer date to become SDS credentialed. * Must acquire Iowa Licensed by the Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography within 1 year of start date. #WM123
