Responsibilities:
* Perform advanced-level plumbing work as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership to maintain and improve the service life of facility assets, including physical structures, HVAC, utilities, and grounds.
* Troubleshoot, repair, and install plumbing systems and related equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with healthcare standards.
* Support patient care areas by maintaining medical gas systems (medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, nitrous oxide).
* Inspect and evaluate plumbing systems for performance and efficiency improvements.
* Assist in maintaining and repairing kitchen, restroom, and specialty equipment throughout the hospital.
* Partner with team members and departments to deliver excellent customer service and respond promptly to maintenance requests with professionalism and care.
* Ensure all work complies with life safety, plumbing, and building codes.
Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma, required. One (1) year of vocational school, required.
* Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in commercial plumbing installation and maintenance, required. Experience with reverse osmosis (RO) systems and rehabilitation pools, required. Healthcare experience, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Valid city/county journeyman's card and/or plumber's license from the state of employment, required. Valid driver's license in the state of employment, required. Med Gas certification, preferred.
* Additional Skills Required:
* Strong knowledge of life safety, plumbing, and building codes.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing and mechanical systems using a variety of testing equipment.
* Proficiency in reading technical service manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
* Excellent customer service skills and commitment to supporting a safe, healing environment for patients and families.
* Additional Skills Preferred:
* Experience with electrical and electronic systems.
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems.
* Strong listening skills to detect changes in machine/equipment operation.
