Overview: Odyssey is looking for a Platform Operations Principal at Hanscom AFB to provide strategic leadership for platform operations such as incident and outage response, observability and security, and scaling. Responsibilities: Duties include, but not limited to: * Provide platform operations subject matter expertise to the platform engineering and production teams * Facilitate communication between platform engineering leadership and product teams to collectively problem solve and execute established plans * Advise and recommend implementation of robust processes and operations dashboards to monitor platform performance, user feedback, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), observability, resiliency, and key operational metrics in real time * Drive improvements for operational stability and ensure platform operational teams are seeking to reduce defects and eliminate technical debt * In collaboration with the platform architects, solve complex implementation problems associated with environmental parity across multiple environment types at multiple classification levels * Define platform engineering standards and operational best practices * Advocate for development and implementation of modern, improved technical approaches, fostering a continuous improvement mindset with our engineering staff * Analyze and recommend code and feature implementation across multiple product teams Qualifications: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Clearance Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field Years of Experience: 15+ years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be in DoD Required skills may also include but are not limited to: * An overall strong technical foundation in infrastructure and operations with a good understanding of software development best practices and processes * Demonstrates strong technical and/or architectural experience related to cloud infrastructure and modern cloud computing platform technologies * 5+ years of experience working with cloud offerings (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * 5+ years of experience working with scalable containerized applications (Docker/Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Mesos) * 3+ years of experience in Identity and Access lifecycle management operations and controls. * CompTIA Sec+ certification (or ability to obtain) * Experience with infrastructure as code implementations, CI/CD best practices, and automation. * Understand GitOps and DevSecOps practices * Able to monitor infrastructure, application performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed. * Strong desire to grow and mentor's others * Able to reflect on and empathize with other perspectives * Good written and oral communication skills * Demonstrated leadership abilities in current or previous jobs * Desire to learn continuously Additional Information Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA Travel: 25% Remote #LI-KM1
