Overview: US News & World Report Ranked - Busiest Labor & Delivery Unit in Florida Neonatal Physician Assistant Responsibilities: Pediatrix(r) Medical Group seeks a Neonatal Physician Assistant to join its practice at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Florida. The hospital's NICU offers: * Well-established and respected practice cares for 1,900 babies annually * State-of-the-art, 142-bed, Level-IV NICU * Sister hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, provides the NICU with full-service pediatric and surgical subspecialty services * NICU is supported by RN/RT teams for the delivery room, transports and PICC lines are managed by a team of RNs * Winnie Palmer's Fetal Care Center attracts a variety of fascinating fetal and neonatal cases with EXIT procedure capability and includes a Women's Intensive Care Unit * At the forefront of our practice is solid leadership, excellence in every aspect of our work and a genuine desire to "take great care of the patient" * Team of 25 neonatologists and 7 NNPs * A Neonatal Fellowship site * Advanced training in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Neonatal Hemodynamics * Shifts are 12-hour days with some flexibility and 12-hour nights * *Completion of a neonatal training program or previous NICU experience required About Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies: * 350-bed facility and the busiest labor and delivery unit in the state of Florida * Approximately 15,000 annual deliveries * Level-IV 142-bed NICU * Named an ECMO Center of Excellence, one of only 4 in Florida * One of the most technologically advanced and largest NICUs in the nation * Named a "Best Children's Hospital" in neonatology by US News & World Report * The hospital boasts many other national and international accolades for excellence Orlando Fast Facts: * Home to world-famous theme parks Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld * Cost of living is lower than other major cities in Florida * Numerous parks, lakes and nature trails for outdoor recreation, such as hiking, biking, fishing, golfing and boating * Home to professional sports teams, including the Orlando Magic and Orlando City Soccer Club * Vibrant arts and culture scene with museums, theaters and galleries, such as Orlando Museum of Art and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts * A diverse city with a large Hispanic population, reflected in the city's cuisine, music and cultural events * Several highly ranked universities, including the University of Central Florida and Rollins College, along with some excellent public and private schools * While Orlando is not located directly on the coast, it's a short drive to some of the state's most beautiful beaches, such as Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach * Nearly 310,000 residents call Orlando home, with a metro populous of 2 million * Subtropical climate, year-round warm temperatures ranging on average from 59 F in the winter to 81 F in the summer Qualifications: * Current certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) * Minimum of a master's degree * Applicants must have completed a Neonatal PA training program or have one year of PA experience in a Neonatal ICU
