				Overview:

Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a compassionate, caring APP Lead to join our Hanover GI clinic to provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians.

Patient Care: Obtains complete history and physical data on patients. Reviews patient records. Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed. Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Provides care that is appropriate for specific age groups.

Professional Development: Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Attends required meetings and participates in practice activities as requested.

Teamwork and Communication: Work within a team to achieve patient and team goals. Share and initiate regular and professional communication with co-workers. Participate in regular staff meeting. Identifies opportunities to improve processes based on feedback from staff and customers. Monitors quality of core process in department. Collaborates with other depts or disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.

Lead duties: Collaborates with Clinic Administrator and/or Lead Physician in achieving Department/Organization objectives related to clinical practice, clinical quality, professional development, and provider well-being. Attends as needed meetings with Clinic Administrator and/or Lead Physician to discuss needs of the clinic. Participates in human resource functions such as performance management, evaluation, coaching, and professional development activities for team APPs. Responsible for creating and organizing schedules/call schedules for APPs and arranging for APP coverage for both the clinic and hospital setting when APPs are absent. Represents team APPs in addressing significant issues and barriers that affect clinical practice, safety, quality and professionalism. Collaborates with Clinic Administrator and/or Lead Physician

Qualifications:

* Education: Graduate degree, required. Masters of Physician Assistant Studies, Masters of Nurse Practitioner, or similar degree conferred by an accredited program, such as NCCPA and ARC-PA.
* Experience: One to three years of experience working in a physician practice setting, preferred. One to three years of experience working as a Physician Assistant Lead (or equivalent) 
* Licensure/Certification: 
* Current NP or PA license in appropriate state, registry required w/state medical board, current DEA registry and ACLS( not required for the in- office only NP/PA) and BLS Required

* Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
