Responsibilities:

* Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care
* Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
* Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage
* Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
* Observe and report to the physical therapist the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in condition
* Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
* Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the CAPTE with current licensure to practice in state of operation
* 1+ year PTA experience
* Home health experience preferred
* Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
