Overview: Physical Therapist- Outpatient Clinic & Inpatient Unit FTE: 1.0 FTE (Full-time, 40 hours per week) Shifts: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, weekend and holiday rotations in Acute Care $5,000 Relocation Bonus $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Responsibilities: Physical Therapists treat patients from newborn to geriatric and work under the referral of a physician. They are responsible to evaluate, establish appropriate plan of care and provide needed treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and independence and prevent disability. * Evaluates and treats physical therapy patients under physician orders in the outpatient and acute settings * Develops treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load * Maintains appropriate documentation in the patient's medical record * Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the physical therapy department * Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family * Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patient's healthcare team Qualifications: Education: * Graduate of a Physical Therapist education program approved by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), a successor organization of CAPTE, or an education program outside the United States determined to be substantially equivalent to physical therapist entry-level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. * Passed an examination for Physical Therapists approved by the state in which physical therapy services are provided. Licensure: * Physical therapy licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa. * Valid Drivers License Experience: * Entry level/new graduate acceptable Skills/Abilities: * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Basic knowledge of computer concepts * Ability to meet time frames for work completion * Effective skills for teamwork/team facilitation * Ability to evaluate critically and think creatively * Able to read and understand a variety of patient related documentation * Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and treat rehabilitative needs of patients relative to development and age
