Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician's primary role is to dispense medical prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician performs administrative duties such as data entry, inventory management, and prescription billing. They must maintain a high degree of accuracy and adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities:
* Dispense medical prescriptions and perform administrative duties as directed by the Site Physician or Charge Nurse.
* Maintain inventory records, receive and store incoming supplies, and verify stock.
* Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare personnel as needed.
* Assist healthcare professionals within the scope of pharmacy technician certification.
* Adhere to infection control techniques and principles, while respecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by state of employment.
Experience
* Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience.
* Familiar with a variety of field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Licenses/Certifications
* Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by the state of employment. Current CPR Certification.
