Overview:
Novant Health is expanding emergency services with the new Clements Ferry Emergency Department, a freestanding facility bringing high-quality, 24/7 emergency care closer to the Daniel Island and greater Charleston communities. Pharmacy support for this location will be coordinated through our hospital-based pharmacy team, with travel to Clements Ferry as needed.
This role will primarily be onsite at the hospital while also supporting medication services at the Clements Ferry Emergency Department.

Responsibilities:
Acute Care Pharmacy Functions
* Prepare, fill, and deliver medication orders under pharmacist supervision
* Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding
* Replenish automated dispensing cabinets and emergency kits
* Assist with controlled substance accountability
* Demonstrate proficiency with pharmacy equipment and software
* Support procurement and inventory management
Compliance & Quality
* Maintain regulatory compliance (Board of Pharmacy, DEA, USP standards)
* Support quality assurance and safety initiatives
* Complete annual competencies and certification maintenance
Teamwork & Patient Support
* Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and providers
* Answer and appropriately triage phone calls
* Assist in training and mentoring new team members
* Support process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Education
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Associate degree preferred
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years of acute care pharmacy experience required
* Must demonstrate competency in at least three pharmacy skill areas (e.g., medication distribution, sterile compounding, controlled substances, procurement, ADS management)
Licensure & Certification
* Current registration with applicable State Board of Pharmacy required
* PTCB or NHA certification required within 60 days of hire (or active pharmacy intern license if enrolled in accredited pharmacy school)
* Additional specialized certifications required within 12 months of hire and maintained thereafter
Skills
* Strong math and medication calculation skills
* Knowledge of medication names, routes, and dosing
* Ability to work independently and travel to multiple locations as needed
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a high-performing, fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
