St. Luke's Health System in Nampa is seeking a full-time Hospice Pharmacy Technician to join our Hospice Pharmacy team!

Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday - Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Possible holidays depending on business need

The Hospice Pharmacy is seeking a dynamic team player and self-starter with a desire to provide high-quality patient care.  A Hospice Pharmacy Technician assists our pharmacists with the preparation and delivery of medications for hospice patients.  Hospice technicians have minimal direct patient contact and rotate through order input, filling, non-sterile compounding, oral syringe preparation, bubble-packing, and coordination of delivery logistics.  

The Hospice Pharmacy Technician requires strong communication skills to communicate with patients and caregivers as well as to maintain collaborative working relationships with the colleagues, providers, nursing clinicians, and interdepartmental teams.  Technicians in the Hospice Pharmacy need to have the skills to problem-solve, a strong attention to detail and organization of tasks, and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities:

* Enter, prepare and fill prescriptions for final verification by the pharmacist
* Triage and prioritize new orders and refill requests
* Coordinate delivery of orders to patient homes
* Monitor inventory of medications and supplies
* Utilize computer information systems to support pharmacy processes 
* Complete required cleaning, monitoring, logs, recalls and outdates to established standards 
* Maintain accurate pharmacy records and reports
* Provide exceptional customer service to patients and hospice team
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required 
* Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician License required 
* Two (2) years' experience preferred 
* Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Technician 4 is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the delivery of pharmacy services to patients and customers. Activities of the technician are under the supervision of the pharmacist. In addition, this position also serves as a role model and mentor, promoting activities which contribute to a positive work and professional

* Compound, prepare, and process medications/medication orders for verification by the pharmacist. 

* Refill automated dispensing devices, dispensing technology in the medical center 

* Order, receive, store incoming medications and supplies 

* Utilize computer information systems to support pharmacy processes 

* Complete required cleaning, monitoring, logs, recalls and outdates to established standards 

* Opportunities to train others to reinforce their own training and skills with or without supervision, based on experience with function. May serve as a mentor or role model. May supervise the training of others, based on experience with function. 

* Understands different functions as technician and experience allows them to perform complex functions. 

* Technician experience enables them to own processes improvement activities. 

* Provides quality customer service and experience allows them to identify gaps in customer service, provide solutions to close customer service gaps and will close gaps in customer service. 

* Experience allows opportunity to suggests changes and/or supports development and changes in policies and procedures. 

* May participate in staff development of other technicians, including mentoring, coaching and performance evaluations. 

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent 
* Experience: 3 years' experience 
* Licenses/Certifications: 
* Valid Pharmacy Technician Registration in state of practice 
* Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
