Overview: Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required. This role is essential in supporting the pharmacy operations and ensuring excellent service to our patients. How you grow, learn and thrive matters here. * Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities * Wearable duress alarm technology (a wearable badge that allows staff to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern) * Shift differentials for nights and weekends * Differentials for higher education, certifications and various lead roles * Malpractice liability insurance * Loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department * EPIC electronic charting system Responsibilities: * Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to: * Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility * Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe * Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging. * Non-sterile unit dose packaging * Cart, tray, and kit preparation. * Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications * Proper waste or disposal * Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances. * Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas. * Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems. * Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements. * Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances. * Performs other functions as required or assigned. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED * Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB * Or, Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA
