				Overview:

Functions as a Pharmacist as defined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners. Responsible for providing all aspects of pharmaceutical care, including clinical and distributive tasks, for patients served within our health system.  Acts as a member of the health care team to help patients and clinic staff achieve clinical outcomes and monitor progress toward common goals.  Performs assignments and projects as directed by the Pharmacy Management Team.  Supervises Pharmacy technicians in the absence of formal departmental leadership.

* Ensures the appropriate preparation and dispersal of medications in accordance with facility, state, and national laws and regulations 
* Assures compliance with HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other state and federal regulations guiding healthcare 
* Adheres to policies and procedures of UPH-DM 
* Prioritizes the importance of preventing errors, accidents, and infections within the workplace and reports potential or actual concerns immediately

Qualifications:

Education: B.S. Pharmacy with equivalent clinical experience.   Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred,   Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency desirable

Experience: Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical record.   One or more years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred

License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible for licensure. Must attain a license to practice Pharmacy in Iowa within six months of employment. Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Iowa Pharmacist license is obtained. Must maintain current license to practice pharmacy in Iowa and be in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners
