Overview: Pharmacist- Inpatient Pharmacy UnityPoint Health - Fort Dodge, IA Exempt, Full-time, 40 hours per week Shift: Various shifts Monday-Friday, every 4th to 5th weekend rotation Eligible for $10,000 Sign-on Bonus! The pharmacist on duty provides many services, with the assistance of technical and clerical support. This is includes preparation and distribution of medications, providing drug information, education, inventory management, order verification, patient profile review and monitoring, discharge instructions, various medication dosing services, antimicrobial stewardship, interdisciplinary discharge planning, and committee representation. Responsibilities: * Promote cost efficiency and productivity within the pharmacy department * Accurately and efficiently dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient care * Monitor drug therapy, assess medication use across all populations, and provide drug information * Ensure patient safety by following best practices and minimizing medication errors * Maintain inventory levels and perform routine quality control activities * Collaborate with providers on formulary management, dosing, and clinical initiatives * Participate in antimicrobial stewardship efforts and interdisciplinary collaboration * Train and support pharmacy technicians and interns * Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams * Document interventions, adverse reactions, and medication-related events per policy Qualifications: Education: B.S. Degree in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy preferred Experience: Experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities in hospital Pharmacy preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Iowa Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
