Overview:
What You'll Do
* Responds to work orders generated by base populace regarding pest control issues to include, handling herbicide, pesticide, treatment, and removal of pests (insects, rodents, snakes, etc.) including feral animal trapping. Clean-up and removal of carcasses.
* Implementation and oversight of Installation Environmental SOW, SOPs, and hazardous material management plans for all installation facilities and tenant units.
* Inspect and provide guidance on safe storage and handling of pest management materials and pesticide wastes.
* Maintain Installation Master Chemical Inventory of pesticide materials.
* Inspect and provide guidance on identification and labeling of pesticide management materials and pesticide wastes.
* Inspect and provide guidance on pesticide management materials classification and segregation.
* Educate and train installation personnel in the proper turn-in and documentation procedures for pest control and application.
* Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Pesticide applicator training, certification, and health monitoring shall also be IAW AFMAN 32-1053 and Department of Defense Manual (DODM) 4150.07 Volumes 1 and 2.

Responsibilities:
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct monthly and non-routine pest inspections of all facilities throughout the installation.
* Conduct operations of the Pesticide Storage Area to include all building on Ascension Islands
* Receive, store and submit for disposal pesticide management materials and pesticide waste.
* Organize/segregate pesticide management material/waste according to hazmat class.
* Maintain the Safety Data Sheets for the pesticide storage area.
* Conduct weekly inspections to ensure proper safety and storage of all pesticide materials stored.
* Complete all documentation, marking and labeling of pesticide materials.
* Complete all documentation for disposal of pesticide wastes.
* Work Order response
* Pesticide Application to infested areas.
* Trapping and removal of feral animals
* Tracking and documentation of pesticides
* Hazardous Waste Response/Cleanup
* Maintain results of inspections and maintain associated documentation and files.
* Take follow-up and corrective actions for deficiencies noted.
* Member of Installation Spill Response Team as a primary emergency response team member.

* Report writing, inspection documentation, and general office work
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications
* Education:
* High School diploma
* Certifications:
* Pest Management Licenses in Ornamental Lawn and Turf,
* Aquatic Pest Control, Right of Way, Industrial, Institutional, Structural and Health Related Pest Management and Public Health.
* Experience:
* 5 years environmeantal, safety and health experience desirable.
* 3 years Pest Management Experience
* Other Requirements:
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in American English.
* Work in a team environment; and interact with clients, subcontractors, DOD Civilians.
* Skills and Technology Used:
* Annual and recurring certifications required in:
* 40 Hours HAZWOPER Certification
* Confined Space Certification
* CPR/First Aid
* HAZCOM
* Respiratory Protection
* Ability to obtain a forklift license.
* Pest Management licenses.
