This position within the Pulmonary Section includes Directing the Pulmonary diseases Fellowship; duties as Associate Program director of the Internal Medicine Residency training program at Bridgeport Hospital; attending in the MICU, pulmonary consult attending and sleep medicine and pulomonary oupatient clinics. This position also requires directorship of the Center for Sleep Medicine. Approximately 25-50% of the position's time is spent as the fellowship director; 25-50% as Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine training program; and the remainder as a clinical Pulmonary-Critical Care physician. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities: * 1. Examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the lungs. * 2. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. * 3. Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Qualifications: EDUCATION MD, DO or equivalent; successful completion of internal medicine residency and pulmonary-critical care and sleep fellowship in accredited programs; 5 years of post-fellowship practice in puolmonary-critical care diseases and sleep medicine, preferably to include a significant role in education of fellows and residents; board certification in internal medicine and pulmonary-critical care medicine and sleep medicine. EXPERIENCE As above--5 years post fellowship training. LICENSURE As above; also, eligible to be licensed in the state of CT. SPECIAL SKILLS All those procedures expected of a clinical pulmonologist/critical care physician, as well as sleep medicine. PHYSICAL DEMAND MMR is required. Varivax (chicken pox vaccine) or evidence of prior chicken pox is required. Hepatitis B (or signed declination) is required for those with potential exposure to blood/body fluids. Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged. Significant call and clinical responsibility committment during time spent as MICU attending.
