Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Pediatric Electrophysiologist to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Practice Highlights:

* This role will be part of a well established pediatric cardiology progrm
* Weekly balance of inpatient, outpatient and lab time.

* Clinic, office, and EP labs are all located at the same facility

Responsibilities:

Summary:
Performs with the knowledge, skills and abilities to support the execution of the full array of electrophysiology procedures in the clinic/laboratory setting.

Responsibilities: 

* Performs with the knowledge, skills and abilities to support the execution of the full array of electrophysiology procedures in the clinic/laboratory setting.
* Makes all professional judgments in the cardiac care of patients seen
* Collaborates with colleagues in the management of patients, both in the hospital and outpatient settings
* Manages and oversees the physician/patient relationship
* Participates in system wide health management initiatives
* Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards
* Collaborates with referring and consulting providers to optimize patient experience
* Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives
* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops. 

Required Experience:

* Non-Invasive and Invasive Electrophysiology 
* Management of childhood arrhythmias
* Managing pacemaker checks

Inpatient:

* Consults for ED, NICU, PICU, PCU, and Lovelace Women's NICU
* Assist interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital colleagues in management of service specific inpatient consults
* Provide post-operative cardiology patient management
* Read pediatric/ACHD Muse ECGs and inpatient holters
* Field daytime calls/consults from outside physicians, EDs, and hospitals

Outpatient: 

* Prepare for upcoming clinics by determining prior testing required for each patient
* Provide patient management for all patients scheduled for clinic and any urgent add-ons as agreed upon with colleagues
* Note completion/billing in timely fashion
* Provide interpretation/billing for holters, event monitors, and echocardiograms for patient panel
* Communicate plan with referring providers
* Provide the same services for assigned outreach clinics
* Provide interpretation for outside ECGs, holters, and echocardiograms
* Return parent calls and refill authorizations for patient panel
* Create referral letters and denial of authorization petitions for patient panel
* Prepare patient presentations for surgical conference and M&M conferences
* Supervise treadmills and stress tests for patient panel
* Participate in maintenance of ICAEL certification, staff/nursing education, and quality improvement projects 

Call Coverage:

* Respond to patient/parent and provider calls and appropriately notify primary cardiologist for patient of management decisions made overnight/weekend
* Provide prompt performance of urgent/stat echos at Presbyterian Downtown and Lovelace Women's hospital
* Provide prompt interpretations of any outside echocardiograms, ECGs
* Manage urgent notifications of holter/event monitor/lab results
* Round on inpatients on service over the weekends/holidays

Essential Credentials

* Medical Doctor
* BE/BC Pediatric Cardiology
* Completed fourth year fellowship in pediatric electrophysiology
