ABOUT THE ROLE

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the payroll production process for assigned groups.  This position uses advanced payroll knowledge and expertise to make recommendations to ensure overall accuracy and completeness.  The Payroll Specialist determines and implements processes and procedures based on the needs and local laws impacting assigned group payrolls.  This position also serves as a lead on projects and assigned specialty functions.

This role is located at the Enterprise Mobility's Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO and offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days work-from-home).

Responsibilities:

We are hiring now for immediate openings.  Responsibilities include:

* Serve as the subject matter expert and manage the payroll review for biweekly and monthly payrolls for assigned groups; review scheduled payrolls for accuracy and areas of risk; determine adjustments and revisions needed; work with assigned Coordinator or Manager to ensure corrections are completed  
* Monitor and interpret current payroll laws at the state and local levels and make recommendations to management on changes to procedures for compliance; determine and apply appropriate processes and practices to payrolls based on needs and local laws impacting the assigned groups  
* Provide guidance and training to payroll personnel assigned to same payroll as necessary  
* Own and manage assigned specialty functions across multiple groups; review for accuracy; determine adjustments and revisions needed; provide guidance to payroll personnel for corrective action needed  
* Build relationships and work with Group contacts to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and/or identify challenges with current processes  
* Partner with the payroll customer services and business contacts to resolve issues; research complex payroll questions and provide guidance on payroll issues to Groups and the Payroll department  
* Review and monitor existing procedures for assigned groups and provide solutions to increase efficiency  
* Provide guidance to assigned payroll personnel on resolution of employment tax issues  
* Recommend procedural changes for assigned payrolls, leading communication and implementation efforts  
* May serve as backup for payroll processing

Qualifications:

Required:

* High School Diploma or GED
* Must have 3+ years of payroll experience
* Must have at least intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel
* Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

Preferred:

* Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
