Part Time 3 days/wk: Monday and Tuesday with alternating Thursday/Friday

Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

* Performs opening and closing clinic duties
* Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
* Scans documents into electronic health record
* Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
* Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
* Schedules follow up appointments as needed
* Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
* Orders clinic office supplies
* Sells and tracks cosmetic products
* Distributes mail
* Prepares for next day scheduled appointments

Qualifications:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* 1-2 years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
* Proficient in basic computer functions.
* Ability to learn new software quickly.
* Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to operate standard office equipment.
* Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
* Must possess attention to detail.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
* Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
* Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
* Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
