Overview: Shift: Nights 11p-7:30a with every 3rd weekend rotation, 32 hours/week Are you passionate about making a difference in patient care? We're looking for compassionate, attentive individuals to join our healthcare team as Patient Safety Companions. In this vital role, you'll help ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients through direct observation and monitoring. Ready to make a meaningful impact? Apply today and help us keep our patients safe and supported! Responsibilities: * Provides 1:1 direct observation (in patient's room) to assigned patient to prevent patient self-injury. Maintains visual observation at all times. * Participates in collaborative identification of and reporting of patient safety issues. * Removes any potential safety hazard from patient room and reports findings to nursing staff. * Promotes diversionary activities as necessary and appropriate * Documents proof of observation on suicide precautions and other safety protocols * Assists patient with Activities of Daily Living in accordance with job training and in collaboration with health care team. Nursing staff must be notified if patient lifting is required. * Notifies assigned nursing and support staff on assigned area immediately in case of emergency, or as needed to provide patient care on a routine basis. * Seeks assistance immediately when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others Qualifications: Education: * High School Diploma or GED preferred License(s)/Certification(s): * Valid driver's license. * Must possess and maintain valid Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain certification within three (3) months. Other: * Level 2 Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, pushing or pulling arm or leg controls or maintaining a production rate pace. Light work requires physical exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work.
